Karadzic returns to medical career, Serb official says

Bosnian Serb wartime leader and war crimes suspect Radovan Karadzic has no wish to be involved in politics and has returned to his medical profession, according to a Bosnian Serb radio station broadcasting from his wartime stronghold of Pale in eastern Bosnia.

"Radovan Karadzic is writing his memoirs, has returned to his medical profession and does not wish to be involved in politics," said Pale-based Bosnian Serb Radio St John.

It was quoting Serb Democratic Party (SDS) directorate chief Gojko Klickovic, the Bosnian Serb entity's former premier.

Klickovic, speaking to a Bosnian Serb weekly, also accused members of the Interior Ministry in the northwestern city of Banja Luka of deepening the rift between the authorities there and politicians in Pale.

The Bosnian Serb Parliament voted earlier this year to move the seat of government to Banja Luka, away from the hardline nationalist base in Pale.
