Bomb found on British army base in Cyprus

An unexploded bomb was discovered in the British base area of Episkopi in Cyprus on Thursday afternoon, Cyprus radio reported .

It said the device, which consisted of half a kilogram of explosive material, had been intended to blow up a water supply reservoir.

The fuse had been lit, but the device was faulty and failed to go off.

A security official discovered the device during a routine check.

Another bomb exploded outside a police station in Episkopi a week ago, causing minor damage but no injuries.
