Clinton's 'shameful' Balkan tour

"The US has played an important role in the destruction of Yuyoslavia"

The following is the text of a commentary by the Yugoslav state news agency Tanjug

Bill Clinton has doubtlessly secured himself a place in history - he will be remembered for:

  • criminal aggression against a sovereign European country
  • for trampling the prevalent international legislation
  • and particularly for his open and unscrupulous support for terrorists and separatists worldwide.

The current US president whose term ends next year and who cannot run for the top post for the third time has openly shown the world that by resorting to force he did not care about law, legal order or the prevalent international norms.

He has confirmed through his words as well as deeds that he subscribes to a policy of double standards, that he is not guided by principles, and that he uses ample lies to cover up his aggressive and criminal actions.

Clinton has been living up to this characteristic behaviour pattern almost daily, especially in recent days.

'Malicious personality'

In the past 48 hours, he has undertaken several steps which support the above assessment of Clinton's malicious personality.

After admitting initially that the terrorists from the so-called Kosovo Liberation Army were a big problem for the restoration of peace in Kosovo-Metohija, he personally phoned terrorist ringleader, criminal Hashim Thaci today.

The very fact that the US president talks on the phone to a terrorist for whom an arrest warrant has been issued and who is responsible for many crimes speaks for itself.

This very same Clinton has persistently tried to convince public opinion that the struggle against terrorism is one of the key tasks for the United States, which promises to purge the planet of this evil.

Simultaneously, the Siptar [Albanian] terrorists who are killing civilians and also their fellow nationals are not terrorists to Clinton because he sees them as tools for the realisation of his darkest goal of breaking up and occupying a Balkan and a European state.

Destuction of Yugoslavia

President Clinton's arrival in Slovenia today sets another precedent which will be a part of his infamous legacy.

Namely, Clinton took advantage of his stay in Ljubljana to glorify the illegal secession which Slovenia was the first to conduct.

Slovenia was the first stage on the path of the destruction of the former Yugoslavia, and the United States, in addition to Germany and some other countries, took an active part in this brutal and shameful deed.

Clinton's praise of Slovenia for trampling international laws and the constitution of a country which it used to be part of again proved that the United States played an important role in the destruction of the sovereign Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.

His words uttered in Ljubljana will be remembered in history which will prove that the United States supported the most macabre of movements and individuals in the world to further its own interests.

As is known, a century ago this very same United States suppressed its own secessionist movement with blood when the South wanted to secede.

The figures suggest that the northerners killed more than 100,000 southern secessionists, among which were a great many civilians.

As for Clinton's visit to Slovenia, Clinton will use this stop on his shameful tour for some additional undermining and war-mongering, and will, it is claimed, meet [Montenegrin President] Milo Djukanovic, evidently to assist and encourage "suitable personalities" to pursue new destructive plans.

Just in time visit

At the end of his latest tour, Clinton will be travelling to Macedonia on Tuesday where he will visit a refugee camp for Kosovo Albanians who are preparing to return.

Just as well that Clinton is rushing to visit the so-called refugees, because, had he delayed his visit for another day, the US television cameras would find nothing to film since there would be no refugees left there.

Clinton himself announced yesterday that 60,000 Albanians had returned to Kosovo-Metohija.

CNN no longer shows the refugee convoys returning because there are nowhere near as many refugees as these same cameras had falsely portrayed in the past.

Hurrying to be shown with the refugees, Clinton announced that the refugee issue would soon be tabled, also by the US television stations which have assisted wholeheartedly in their lies for the malicious Clinton to fabricate the monstrous story about bombing a sovereign country and killing its people for the sake of refugees.
