Two children died when a grenade thrown by a drunk man exploded in a hostel in the Tajik capital Dushanbe, Moscow Echo news agency reported on Sunday.
Interior ministry officials said five other people were injured in the blast on Friday.
Witnesses said a drunk 35-year-old man was playing with the grenade when he pulled out the pin and threw it into a corridor.
Two children died on the spot and the man who threw the grenade is in a critical condition, the agency said.
