Official celebrations and an anti-government rally have been held in Hong Kong, marking the 12th anniversary of the transition from British to Chinese rule in the territory.
Officials from Hong Kong and mainland China attended a colourful pro-Beijing parade, which organisers say drew 40,000 people.
Government opponents, including disgruntled civil servants, gathered for an annual pro-democracy march.
