Barry Davies
The Wimbledon Championships are just one of the major events being covered by versatile TV commentator Barry Davies this year.

Barry joined BBC Radio in 1963 after leaving the Army, having gained his first broadcasting experience with the British forces network in Germany.

He was part of ITV's comentary team for the 1966 World Cup Finals, and also reported for ITV on the 1968 Olympic Games.

Barry rejoined the BBC in 1969 and has worked on a succession of major sports events including football World Cups and European Championships, Summer and Winter Olympics, and Commonwealth Games.

Match of the Day's longest-serving commentator, he also covers ice skating, gymnastics, badminton, hockey and rowing.
