John Inverdale

One of BBC Sport's most versatile performers, John Inverdale makes his Wimbledon TV presenting debut at this year's Championships.

John will also continue to host Radio 5 Live's coverage of the tournament, sharing the anchor duties with Ian Payne.

He began his broadcasting career in BBC local radio in 1982, moving to BBC network radio sport in 1985 and becoming presenter of Radio 5's flagship sports show Sport On 5 three years later.

John has anchored 5 Live's coverage of many major sports events including Olympic Games, World Cups (football and rugby) and several Wimbledon Championships.

In 1997, he was named Sony Broadcaster of the Year for his Radio 5 Live drivetime programme.

He is still a regular presenter from major sporting occasions for 5 Live, and also hosts its Any Sporting Questions forum.

On TV John has presented Rugby Special, Sunday Grandstand and five series of the acclaimed sports chat show On Side.

He is also one of the presenters of the BBC's annual Sports Review and, earlier this year, made his Six Nations Championship presenting debut for Grandstand.

This year John shares his radio and television duties with afternoons spent with 5 Live and the evenings doing the highlights for television.
