Not a renowned grass court player having won only two matches in four attempts at Wimbledon.

But this flamboyant Ecuadorian has proved a capable player in fast surfaces and reached the semi-finals of the Australian Open last year.

He will be keen to make an impression at Wimbledon this year if only to prepare himself for the forthcoming Davis Cup tie against Britain which will be played on Number One court the week after the Championship.
