The campaign now covers 180 pubs in Carmarthenshire

A drive to ban troublemakers from pubs and clubs in Carmarthenshire has been extended to rural areas of the county.

The Behave or Be Banned (Bobb) campaign was initially launched in Llanelli, Ammanford and Carmarthen.

In the run-up to Christmas licensees from other areas have signed up with 180 now taking part.

Currently 172 people are banned for a variety of reasons including violence, drug taking, disorder or under-age drinking.

New areas included in the campaign include Llandeilo, Llandovery, Burry Port, Cross Hands, Felinfoel, Dafen and Llwynhendy.

Community safety inspector Tony Ward said: "The Bobb scheme sends out a strong message to the public that violent behaviour and alcohol-related crime will not be tolerated in Carmarthenshire.

"Anyone caught causing trouble over the festive season could find themselves banned from their favourite pubs."
