Remand on court escape accusation

James William Stevenson was remanded to custody at Swansea

A man accused of escaping from a court has appeared at Swansea Crown Court via videolink to hear the charge.

James William Stevenson, of Bonymaen, Swansea, is accused of escaping from Swansea Crown Court when it was sitting at the city's Guildhall on 2 October.

Mr Stevenson, 29, is also charged with stealing two gold rings worth £240 from a man in the Morriston area of the city on 7 October.

No pleas were entered and he was remanded in custody until 4 January.
