Rocks thrown at windows of church

Vicar Michael Walters
Michael Walters described the extent of the damage as terrible

Vandals have caused around £2,000 worth of damage to a Gower church by hurling rocks and stones at the windows.

Services were cancelled at St Gwynour's in Penclawdd on Sunday as members of the congregation began the task of clearing up the mess.

The attack, on either Saturday night or early Sunday, happened months after new stained glass windows were installed.

Vicar Michael Walters said the vandalism had "hurt and shocked" worshippers.

Police have appealed for anyone with information to call them on 01792 456999 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
