Man forced from car at knifepoint

A car thief forced a man out of a Ford Focus in Swansea at knifepoint.

Less than 10 minutes after stealing the vehicle, he then threatened staff at a corner shop with a blade and made off with cash and scratch cards.

Police are reviewing CCTV tapes of the thefts outside Browne's Newsagents on Siloh Road in Landore and the Premier Shop on Llangyfelach Street.

The suspect, who first struck around 1635 BST on Tuesday, is described as a white male, aged between 25 and 29.

He was approximately 5ft 9ins (1.75m) tall, of slim build and was wearing a beige coloured beanie hat, red fingerless gloves, and blue jeans or tracksuit bottoms.

Police believe he is still using this navy blue Ford Focus, registration CN02 DYC, and are appealing to anyone who witnessed the thefts or has seen the vehicle to contact them.

Det Insp Simon Davies of Swansea CID said: "We would like to reassure the community that we are reviewing CCTV footage and investigating a number of other lines of enquiry.

"Any additional information from the public, no matter how small, could play a vital role in helping us put this person before the courts."

Contact South Wales Police on the new police non-emergency number of 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800555111.
