The getaway car was stolen in Morriston, Swansea, say police

Early morning ram-raiders have used a stolen car to break into a designer clothes store.

South Wales Police said clothing was taken from the Tempo shop in Croft Road, Neath town centre, at 0105 BST.

Two or three men are believed to have been involved and they escaped from the scene in a second stolen car.

Police appealed for witnesses and information about the cars. A silver Ford Escort was used to smash into the shop and a blue MG ZR for the getaway.

Detectives say the Escort, registration J286 NNR, was reported stolen from Heol Heddwch in Neath Abbey, north of the town centre.

The MG, registration GF04 WFE, had been stolen from the Morriston area.

Det Insp David Rees of Neath Port Talbot CID said: "We need to speak to anyone who knows who was in these vehicles prior to the incident taking place during the early hours of Tuesday morning."

Police also want to speak to anyone who saw any suspicious activity near the shop beforehand.

The shop, which also has branches in Swansea and Carmarthen, specialises in designer labels.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Neath CID on 01792 456999 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
