A head teacher has been arrested for a second time after fresh allegations under the Sexual Offences Act.

David Thorley, 55, head of Pembroke Dock Community School in Pembrokeshire, was removed from duties involving children last month.

He was arrested again on Friday after a complaint from the Gloucestershire area and again released without charge pending further inquiries.

He has led the £11.3m "super school" since it opened in 2001.

He was removed from contact with children following his initial arrest in April, also for an allegation under the same act.

No charges have been brought against him.

Dyfed-Powys Police said it could confirm that following a complaint received from the Gloucestershire area a 55-year-old man was arrested and interviewed on 2 May.

A spokeswoman said it was "in relation to an investigation into alleged sexual assaults in west Wales between 2004 and 2006."

She added: "He has been released on bail pending further enquiries and advice from the Crown Prosecution Service."
