Kayak and surfboard group rescued
Mumbles lifeboat
Mumbles lifeboat towed in three of the group and picked up 14
A wind direction change left 17 surfers and kayakers needing help from lifeboat and coastguard teams off south Wales.

Mumbles Coastguard had a call from a sailing school to say that 21 people on surfboards and kayaks were unable to return to shore against the wind.

The Mumbles lifeboat picked up 14 of the group, who were from London, and gave tows to three of the kayakers.

No-one was injured in the operation, which took two-and-a-half hours. The alarm was raised at midday.
