Landmark city church up for sale
Norwegian Church
The church now sits at the centre of the SA1 development
A landmark Swansea church that was moved and renovated in a £400,000 project has been put on the market.

It was hoped the Norwegian Church, moved in 2004 to the city's new SA1 development, would become home to a glass company.

But plans have stalled and the Welsh Development Agency (WDA) is offering the lease to other potential users.

The church originally stood in Newport, but was moved west to Swansea in 1910 and then to its current home in 2004.

'Back on market'

SA1 is a £200m scheme to create a business village, housing and leisure facilities at Swansea's Prince of Wales Dock.

A spokeswoman for the WDA said: "The original plan has not progressed and we are unable to reserve the site indefinitely.

"The lease has been put back on the market and we have already had quite a bit of interest."

She added the distinctive church would ideally be used as a gallery or for some other arts-related business.
