Police want to speak to the motorist whose car was overtaken
A car driver has been killed in a head-on crash on the A40 Whitland bypass in west Wales.

It happened just before 1200BST on Saturday when a Ford Escort was in collision with an articulated lorry.

Dyfed-Powys Police said they believed the crash happened as the car was overtaking another vehicle as it travelled west towards Haverfordwest.

Police asked witnesses to get in touch, particularly the driver of the vehicle being overtaken, on 0845 330 2000.

The red Seddon Atkinson lorry, which was not carrying a load, was travelling eastward towards Carmarthen.

Police closed the road while they investigated, and said the point of impact indicated that the crash was on the eastbound side of the road.
