A fisherman airlifted to hospital from the south Pembrokeshire coast on Tuesday has died in hospital.
The alarm was raised when a friend of Charles Gorry, 54 signalled to a walker at Barafundle Bay near St Govans Head that he was in trouble at 0900BST.
Coastguards at the scene scrambled a helicopter from RAF Chivenor and he was flown to Withybush Hospital.
Mr Gorry was from Pembroke Dock, police later confirmed.
A spokeswoman for the coastguard said: "We had a 999 call at 0900BST this morning from a lady walking the cliffs who saw a man waving a red T-shirt or flag.
"Two gentleman were found on the rocks who had been fishing - one of them had collapsed.
"The helicopter airlifted the casualty who was seriously ill."
She said the helicopter was at the scene within 30 minutes and flew the man to hospital.
