Graham Price arriving at Swansea magistrates' court
Graham Price was remanded on bail until October
A former financial consultant has appeared in court accused of stealing up to £5m in an alleged bank scam.

Graham Price, 58, was remanded on bail by Swansea magistrates until 4 October, charged with stealing £4.32m belonging to the Halifax Bank.

Another 21 separate theft charges involve close to another £1 million.

Mr Price, from Llansamlet, also faced 14 charges of dishonestly obtaining money transfers of unspecified values.

The alleged scam centred on a small village estate agency and agency outlet of banking giant The Halifax in Gowerton, near Swansea.

He is alleged to have stolen £3m of the money over just a nine-day period last summer.

The charges cover the period ranging from January 2001 until the start of August this year.

Mr Price said nothing during Tuesday's hearing apart from confirming his name and address.

He will re-appear before magistrates on 4 October when he will be asked to enter pleas.
