Customers who used a cash machine at a Rhondda supermarket are being urged to contact their bank after a skimming device was found on the machine. The device designed to record PINs and clone cards was discovered on a Royal Bank of Scotland ATM at Asda in Llywnypia on Wednesday. Police community support offices are now checking cash machines in the area during their routine patrols. Anyone who used the machine in the past two weeks should contact their bank. It was reported to Sgt Chris Peters as he visited the supermarket by a security guard. Sgt Peters said: "We removed the device and also a small camera that had been hidden underneath a plastic strip above the key pad. "This equipment is now being forensically analysed and we have also recovered CCTV from the store which shows two men near the cash machine earlier that day. "The device is quite sophisticated and had been attached in such a way that it is very unlikely a member of the public will have noticed anything." At this stage one person, who believes they have been a victim of this device, has come forward but it is not known if anyone else has had their card cloned or money stolen Customers who have used the machine in the last two weeks are urged by police to contact their bank for advice. Anyone with information about the device is asked to contact Ton Pentre Police Station at South Wales Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
