Man dies after mountain car crash

A 32-year-old man has died after a car left a mountain road and dropped down an embankment.

The incident happened late on Thursday night on the A4061 Rhigos mountain road above Treherbert in the Rhondda.

One man from the Rhondda was pronounced dead at the scene. A 46-year-old man suffered slight injuries and was treated in hospital.

South Wales Police, who are appealing for information, said the silver Mitsubishi car was extensively damaged.
