Motorcyclist injured in collision

A 25-year-old motorcyclist has been seriously injured in a collision with a car on Tuesday night.

The incident happened at Cardiff Road in Barry, at the junction with Arthur Street, at 1850 BST.

The male motorcyclist was taken to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff where he was said to be in a critical condition.

Police said the 60-year-old woman driving the car was uninjured and has been assisting officers with inquiries.

Anyone who witnessed the collision between the red and white Yamaha motorcycle and the Vauxhall Corsa car is asked to contact the roads policing unit on 101 or the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
