Man dies after being hit by train
Pyle station
All trains using the line were stopped following the incident
Police investigating the death of a man hit by a train at a station near Bridgend say the driver saw a person running on the lines.

The man, believed to be in his fifties, was struck by a train at Pyle station at about 1830 GMT on Thursday, British Transport Police said.

The line was closed and passengers transported by bus between Bridgend and Swansea. It has since reopened.

The death is the second in less than a fortnight at Pyle station.

British Transport Police are investigating the circumstances around the death on Thursday.

A spokeswoman said: "A man believed to be in his 50s has been struck and killed by the 15.45 Paddington to Swansea service.

"The driver of the service reported a man running out on to the track in front of the oncoming train approximately a quarter of a mile outside the station.

"The incident is not being treated as suspicious."

Passengers travelling between London Paddington and Swansea had their journeys terminated at Cardiff Central station after being told of the death by the train driver.
