Body of man in country park river
A body of a man found in a river in the Dare Valley Country Park in Aberdare has been identified as a 43-year-old local man.

South Wales Police said the man, who has not yet been named, was from the Cwmaman area and had earlier been reported missing by his family.

His body was spotted near the Gadlys Pit car park on Saturday evening.

A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out, but police are not treating his death as suspicious.

Officers said the body was recovered at 1820 BST on Saturday and they were waiting for the results of the post-mortem.

Dare Valley Country Park covers 500 acres of woodlands and mountainside in the Cynon Valley.
