Multiple deaths crash teen bailed
Kayleigh Parry, Katie Roberts, Danielle Caswell, and Louise Jones
The four girls were pupils at Glyncoed Comprehensive
A youth accused of the manslaughter of four teenage girls in a car crash on a mountain road in Powys has been named in court for the first time.

Craig Ramshaw, 18, from Ebbw Vale, Blaenau Gwent had been 17 at the time of the crash and legal restrictions had prevented the media naming him.

He is also charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

Katie Roberts and Danielle Caswell, aged 15, and 16-year-olds Louise Jones and Kayleigh Parry died on 2 November.

It happened in the evening on the B4560 between Llangynidr and Beaufort, Powys.

Appearing at Brecon Youth Court on Friday, Mr Ramshaw spoke only to confirm his name and address.

The four teenage girls who died had been students at Glyncoed Comprehensive in Ebbw Vale and had been travelling in a Vauxhall Corsa with Mr Ramshaw.

The vehicle crashed and rolled 70ft from the B4560 near the village of Garnlydan at about 2120 GMT. All four girls died at the scene.

Mr Ramshaw and another boy, also aged 17 at the time, sustained minor injuries.

He was released on unconditional bail and will reappear before Merthyr Crown Court on 22 June.

There had been a ban on identifying Mr Ramshaw which became invalid following his 18th birthday earlier in June.
