Pupil injured in lunchtime attack

The injured boy is a pupil at Bishop of Llandaff school
A schoolboy has received serious facial injuries after being attacked by a gang of youths during his lunch break.

The 16-year-old pupil at Bishop of Llandaff Church in Wales school in Cardiff had gone to Pwllmelin Road for his lunch when he was assaulted.

A spokeswoman for South Wales Police said the teenager's cheekbone was fractured in three places during the attack. He is now out of hospital.

Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
