Christmas comes early for family
Decorations on Sue and Ted Baker's home
The Christmas decorations have not been taken down
The Christmas celebrations are still over 200 days away but one household in the south Wales valleys is already in high festive spirits.

The outside of Ted and Sue Baker's home near Treherbert in the Rhondda Valleys is already trimmed up.

A giant Father Christmas, flashing lights and mock holly hangs around the front door of their house.

The family say the decorations, put up for last year's celebrations, will stay up in preparation for this year.

Ted Baker said that they always decorate the outside of their home at Christmas but admitted that under the May sunshine they did look quite funny.

"We put decorations up every year but this year we haven't been able to take them down," he said.

"We had a camper van when we put them up which let us reach up to the top, but we've sold it now and we can't reach them to take them down.

"None of us really thought anything about leaving them up there because no-one has said anything to us, but I suppose it is quite funny that they are still up even though its sunny," he said.

But Mr Baker said despite enjoying the Christmas atmosphere, only the outside of the house was still trimmed up.

"The whole house is usually filled with Christmas decorations and lights," he said.

"In fact we don't need to put the main lights on in the house because of all the Christmas lights we have.

"This year we had to leave them up for two weeks longer than usual inside the house because the baby kept crying every time we went to take them down," he laughed.
