Wounding charge councillor Gwilym Euros Roberts remand

A Gwynedd councillor has been remanded into custody after being charged with wounding his wife and aggravated burglary while carrying two knives.

Gwilym Euros Roberts, 40, was arrested after an incident at a house in Blaenau Ffestiniog on Saturday night in which his wife Catrin was injured.

He appeared before magistrates in Caernarfon on Monday morning.

Mr Roberts, is a member of the political group Llais Gwynedd and a Gwynedd councillor.

There was no application for bail and he will next appear at court on 30 April.

Mr Roberts represents the Diffwys and Maenofferen ward in Blaenau Ffestiniog on Gwynedd council.

He is also a town councillor.
