New appeal on triple fatal crash

Rebecca Lee
Rebecca Lee had recently learnt that she was expecting a baby.

Police officers investigating a crash on Anglesey last month in which three teenagers died have issued a fresh plea for information.

A fourth teenager was also critically injured when a Citroen C2 car hit a tree at Menai Bridge on 28 February.

Police want anyone who spoke to the car's occupants between 2200 and 0050 GMT to get in touch.

The funeral of an 18-year-old woman who died in the crash takes place in Bangor later.

Rebecca Jane Lee, who was a student from the city, was pregnant when she died.

The service will take place at Our Lady and St James Church, Holyhead Road, Bangor at 1200 GMT.

Hospital

The funeral of Elin Rowlands, 15, from Bangor, who was a triplet and also known as Ellie Chambers was held at the same church on Tuesday.

The funeral of the third victim of the crash, 17-year-old trainee plasterer Clifford Jones, from Anglesey, took place at Llangadwaladr Church, Hermon, on Saturday.

A fourth passenger, Stacey Williams, 17, is still in hospital following the crash.

Police are also appealing to anyone who saw the Citroen C2 being driven around Bangor and Anglesey before the crash.

Inquests into the three deaths have also been formally opened and adjourned at Caernarfon.

The hearing was told that Rebecca suffered a severe head injury in the crash, while Elin and Clifford had multiple injuries.

• A 24-year old man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving following the accident.

Richard Brown, the car driver, suffered a broken leg, ankle, pelvis and a fractured vertebra in his neck in the crash. He is due to appear at crown court on 13 March.
