Triple deaths crash man remanded

A man been remanded by a court accused of causing the death of three teenagers by dangerous driving and drink-driving.

Richard James Brown, 24, from Anglesey, who arrived at court in a wheelchair, was remanded in custody by Llandudno magistrates.

Rebecca Jane Lee, 18, who was pregnant, Elin Rowlands, also known as Ellie Chambers, 15, and Cliff Jones, 17, died on Saturday in a crash on Anglesey.

A third girl, Stacey Williams, 17, from Bangor, remains in hospital.

He is suffering from a broken leg, ankle pelvis and a fractured vertebra in his neck and was brought to court under police escort from hospital.

Stacey Williams, who was a passenger in Mr Brown's vehicle, remains in hospital with what police have described as "life-changing" injuries.

Flowers mark the scene of the crash on the A5 between Menai Bridge and Llanfairpwll.

Mr Brown is due to appear at Caernarfon Crown Court on 13 March.
