Landslide crashes towards homes

An Anglesey man has described the moment part of his garden disappeared in a landslide.

Dave Crawford said the noise was like a "jet engine being revved up" when a 40ft (12m) section of his garden slipped away.

But he said he did not realise what had happened until a fireman called at his Holyhead home.

Nobody was injured in the incident, which affected at least two other homes at about 0700 GMT on Monday.

Mr Crawford said: "The whole thing took seconds, and it was dark.

"Then the fireman was knocking the door to say half my garden had disappeared."

An investigation is under way into what caused the landslip.
