Payment for wrongly sacked worker

Aeron Jones
Mr Jones called the experience 'financially and emotionally difficult'

A long-running dispute between an enterprise agency and a former employee unfairly dismissed for revealing forgery within the firm has ended.

Cymad's former finance director Aeron Jones, from Llandwrog, was sacked in 2006 after revealing director Elwyn Vaughan forged two cheque stubs.

He was awarded £40,000 after winning an unfair dismissal case but had still not received the money.

He took the matter to court last week and has now been paid, plus interest.

Mr Jones said the past two and a half years had been very difficult "emotionally and financially" for him and his family.

He was sacked for alleged gross misconduct but an employment tribunal at Abergele later found he was unfairly dismissed.

In May 2007, Mr Vaughan was found guilty of two counts of false accounting at Mold Crown Court and fined £500.

He remained with Cymad until last month when he left to focus on his own business.

Cymad's present finance director Jane Jones said the board would discuss any statement on the payout at a meeting on Thursday night.
