Police use stun gun on youth, 15
Taser gun (generic)
The taser can deliver a 50,000-volt electric shock
The first person in Gwynedd to be tasered by North Wales Police was a 15-year-old youth, a court has heard.

A youth court in Dolgellau was told police were left with no alternative as the youth smashed furniture at his Blaenau Ffestiniog home.

The youth who cannot be named for legal reasons pleaded guilty to causing an affray, and sentence was adjourned until 17 March.

The taser uses darts and wires to deliver a 50,000-volt electric shock.

Tom Morgan Jones, prosecuting, said that there was no reasoning with the youth and the decision was taken to use the stunner.

Sentence was adjourned for full reports to be prepared, with custody being an option.
