A wife has paid tribute to her 32-year-old husband who died in her arms after a fall in Snowdonia.
Jennifer Parratt said Christopher, of St Leonard, Oxford, was "an adventurer who was happiest in the outdoors," and was "doing something he loved".
An online book of condolence is to be set up after the accident.
Mrs Parratt has asked that any donations in memory of her husband be sent to the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation.
She said in a statement: "Although the accident was desperately tragic he died doing something he loved and in the arms of his wife.
"He will be deeply missed by his wife, dog, family and friends for his love, his kindness, his enthusiasm and his intense zest for life."
North Wales Police said Mr Parratt was killed on the east face of Tryfan in the Ogwen Valley, Gwynedd, at about 1900 BST on Saturday.
An RAF helicopter and local mountain rescue teams co-ordinated the recovery of the body. Police said an inquiry into the incident was under way.
Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation, who were in the area on a rescue training weekend, were carrying out an investigation to establish exactly what happened.
