No charges after boys die in fire
Konnor and Kyal Owen
The brothers were 'very happy children' said the family
A man arrested on suspicion of manslaughter after his two young sons died in a flat fire will not face charges, North Wales Police have said.

Four-year-old Kyal Owen, and brother Konnor, three, were staying with Michael Thomas, 32, in Llanfaethlu, Anglesey, at the time of the fire last September.

A police spokeswoman said a file would now be submitted to the coroner.

The boys' family said they were "disgusted" by the decision.

The boys' aunt, Sarah Sperry, said: "We still need answers and their mother is absolutely distraught. We are disgusted with this."

Mrs Sperry, whose sister Emma Owen is the boys' mother, added: "We still don't know when the inquest will be, but we will all be going because we need to know what happened."

The boys were spending the night with Mr Thomas, who had separated from their mother, when they died in the early hours of Saturday September 2.

Mr Thomas escaped the blaze unhurt and was later arrested.

A North Wales Police spokeswoman confirmed the Crown Prosecution Service had advised them that there was "insufficient evidence to provide a realistic prospect of conviction in respect of criminal charges against any individual arising from the tragic deaths of the brothers".

She added: "The thoughts of the police officers and prosecutors involved in this case are with the families of Kyal and Konnor at this sad time."

A file will be submitted to the coroner, and an inquest will be held at a date to be fixed.
