Workers protest outside RAF Valley over redundancy consultation

About 40 maintenance staff employed by contractors at RAF Valley on Anglesey have protested outside the base.
The workers, employed by Babcock, said they were unhappy with a consultation process to discuss possible job losses.
The engineering company employs about 500 people at Valley, providing support for the fast jet pilot training school.
Paddy McNaught of the Transport and General Workers' Union (TGWU) said the firm wanted 36 voluntary redundancies. Babcock has been asked to comment.
The workers stressed the action was a protest and not a strike. They said staff took part either at the end of one shift or before another started.
Babcock took over the £65m contract at the Anglesey base in 2004 to provide a range of support services, including servicing Hawk aircraft.
There were protests and walk-outs at the time by workers who were worried the contract would mean job cuts at the base.
