Organisers of a Victorian-themed event are looking for new ways to pay for it after traders complained a modern funfair did not fit their town's image.

Some businesses in Llandudno want the Victorian Extravaganza to go back to its roots with more old-fashioned attractions.
But organisers say the rent from the modern funfair helps pay the £42,000 needed to stage the three-day event.
Llandudno Town Council is meeting on Friday to discuss the next step.
The event is held annually over the May Day bank holiday weekend and features Victorian-themed attractions such as steam engines, and visitors were authentic Victorian dress.
"I'd prefer it if they went back to the old style of getting bands and horse-drawn carriages into the town, it was wonderful," said Yvonne Townley, who owns a shop in St George's Place.

Ms Townley said discussion was also needed on where exactly the attractions were placed, as it was not ideal to have attractions like large steam engines in front of shops and restaurants.
"The event is run by volunteers and it might be time to consider getting a professional events organiser in who could pay for themselves by getting sponsorship," Ms Townley added.
A meeting heard that 16 traders had written to the organising committee claiming the appearance and noise of the fairground rides were harming their businesses.

Extravaganza committee secretary Daive Mann said the modern fun-air had become bigger over the past five to six years simply because local businesses were not giving enough financial support.
"The rent from the funfair plays for the event. It's understandable that people don't want a modern funfair but it's a catch 22 situation," said Mr Mann.
The event, which celebrated its 20th anniversary this year, was getting more expensive to run, he said, and ideas how to raise the funds to run the event without having the funfair would be welcomed.
