A toddler is critically ill in hospital after being hit by a car in the driveway of his home.

Iolo Fôn Williams, aged 17-months, was airlifted by North Wales Police helicopter to hospital.

The accident happened at Llanrwst, Conwy, off the A470 Betws Road.

He is being treated in the intensive care unit of Alder Hey Hospital, Liverpool, where a spokeswoman said he was in a critical condition.

His parents were described as being "very upset."

Emergency services were called to the scene just before 1900 BST on Saturday.

The helicopter flew the boy to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, Bodelwyddan, before he was transferred to Alder Hey.

North Wales Police are investigating.
