84 people evacuated from pub fire

Firefighters evacuated 84 people from a Flintshire pub after a blaze broke out in a property above it.

Crews from Deeside and Buckley were called to the Lifeboat Inn, Sandycroft, at 2225 BST on Sunday.

One person suffered ankle injuries after jumping from the first floor, but nobody else was injured, and the ground floor was not affected by the fire.

The blaze caused severe damage to the first floor and police and fire officers are investigating the cause.

A North Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said 30% fire damage was caused to the first floor, and "100% severe smoke damage".
