A "rundown" bus station has reopened after a £3m revamp which includes measures to curb anti-social behaviour.

Denbighshire council says phase one of the nine-month development at Rhyl, which began in January, is nearly complete.

The number of stands has increased and can accommodate longer buses, and it is hoped bigger shelters will deter troublemakers.

A new taxi rank is also being introduced, along with better access.

Funding for the improvements came from the transport body, Taith, the Welsh Assembly Government and Denbighshire Council.

Passengers used temporary stops at various locations in the town while the station was closed.
