14 injured in multiple car crash

Fourteen people were hurt as a five-car crash brought a section of the A55 to a standstill.

A huge traffic jam, as long as 12 miles at one stage, built up on the eastbound carriageway at the foot of Rhuallt Hill, east of St Asaph.

The road, busy with day trippers who had visited nearby beaches, was eventually reopened about 95 minutes after the incident on Sunday evening.

Although many people were hurt, it is believed nobody was seriously injured.
