Overturned lorry driver arrested

The 56-year-old driver of a lorry which overturned on the A55 has been arrested on suspicion of careless driving.

The Volvo lorry overturned near St Asaph, Denbighshire at about 0033 GMT, forcing police to close both carriageways.

The incident caused disruption for commuters on Tuesday, as diversions were put in place.

The eastbound carriageway remained closed until 1230 GMT, and one lane of the westbound carriageway was opened.

Police said the driver, who is not believed to have been injured, was awaiting questioning.

The central reservation was damaged during the incident.
