Police say pallet fire was arson

Fire in the Rhosddu industrial estate
The damage done by the fire has been estimated at £70,000

Police say they believe a fire at a pallet depot which caused £70,000 worth of damage was started deliberately.

The blaze broke out at Rhosddu industrial estate in Wrexham, on Wednesday night and led to the temporary closure of the A483.

It is thought the offenders entered the site and set fire to property within the compound.

House to house inquiries have been conducted and CCTV footage is being studied.

North Wales Police say they are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen someone acting suspiciously in the area between 6pm and 8pm on Wednesday night.

Fire crews were called to the blaze at 2036 BST and worked to protect adjacent properties from the fire.

Firefighters from Wrexham, Chirk, Llangollen, Buckley and Colwyn Bay fought the blaze.

Smoke and debris from the fire meant the A483 had to be closed until Thursday morning.
