A teenage boy is being treated for burns after his shirt caught fire as he filled a camping stove.
The 14-year-old from the Middleton area of Manchester has been taken to Alder Hay Hospital in Liverpool after his chest and face were burnt.
He was injured as he attempted to use methylated spirits to refill a camping stove while staying in Llangynhafal near Ruthin, Denbigshire.
North Wales Fire Service was called to the site at 2047 BST on Saturday.
It is understood the injured boy had been on an organised camping trip when he suffered 15% partial burns on his chest and face.
He was taken by ambulance to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd Hospital from where he was later transferred to Alder Hey Hospital.
Parry Davies, Fire Safety Enforcement Officer, said: "This incident highlights the need for people using camping stoves, particularly those using flammable liquids, to correctly follow the safety instructions, especially when refilling.
"The youngster concerned mistakenly believed the stove to be empty - care should be taken to ensure naked flames on camping equipment are never left unattended," he added.
