Council defers landfill decision
Parry's Quarry
Residents will have to wait and see if permission is granted
A decision on plans for a controversial new landfill site near a town which has already had several tips has been deferred.

The application for Parry's Quarry, near Buckley, had been recommended for approval, but Flintshire councillors said they needed more information.

Members will consider that, and a separate application for another tip, together at a date to be fixed.

Some local residents are opposed to both applications.

The Local Issues Action Group claims there are too many old landfill sites in the area, which are now inactive.

Opponents also have concerns for the health of local residents.

The application for Parry's Quarry, near Pinfold Lane at Alltami, has been made by construction group Robin Jones & Sons.

Another application for a site nearby has also been made by AD Waste.
