Three remanded over woman's death

Three people have been remanded in custody charged with manslaughter, conspiracy to rob and robbery of an 82-year-old woman.

Maira Roberts died within 12 hours of telling neighbours there had been intruders at her home in Prestatyn, Denbighshire last weekend.

John Roberts, 43, and Pepetia Dawson, 22, from Dyserth, were remanded by Prestatyn magistrates for three days.

A 17-year-old youth was remanded in custody for a day on the same charges.

All three are being held for further police inquiries to be made.

Miss Roberts died at Glan Clwyd Hospital, Bodelwyddan, on Sunday.

She was a single woman born in Prestatyn, where she had lived all her life.

The emergency services were called to Meliden Road in Prestatyn early on Saturday evening, after neighbours raised the alarm.

Miss Roberts was taken to hospital and died less than 24 hours later.
