The case of Paul Williams, 60, from Trevor, near Llangollen, Denbighshire, was sent to the crown court following a brief hearing on Monday.
Mr Williams is now due to appear at Mold Crown Court on 15 December.
Mr Williams, who was released on bail, was arrested as part of an ongoing investigation by North Wales Police officers.
