Hotel porter held up by robbers
The Mountain Park Hotel near Flint
Police said the porter was locked in the cellar by the robbers
Three armed robbers - one armed with a handgun and another with a knife - held up a night porter at a hotel in Flintshire.

The man was threatened and locked in a cellar at the Mountain Park Hotel and Country Club near Flint, but he managed to free himself and raise the alarm.

North Wales Police said the raiders escaped with a large amount of money.

Detectives are keen to speak to witnesses to the robbery which happened just after 0100 GMT on Monday.

Superintendent Nick Snape from North Wales Police said: "The night porter was unhurt fortunately but obviously was very badly shaken from this incident.

"He released himself from the cellar and raised the alarm."

There is an appeal for any witnesses or anyone with any information to come forward.

Mr Snape said a number of vehicles, including HGVs and taxis, were around Northop Road, between Flint and Flint Mountain, around the time of the attack.

"It is a fairly busy thoroughfare even at that time of night.

"We know a number of HGVs use it and they may have seen a vehicle, may have seen someone hanging about, someone coming out of the hotel and we want to speak to them."
