The attraction gives visitors a Victorian schooling experience

A tourist attraction which recreates the atmosphere of a Victorian school has gone on sale on the internet.

The Victorian School of the Three Rs at Llangollen has reproduced the olde worlde school experience for the past 16 years

The school recreates lessons in reading, writing and arithmetic in authentic style.

Farmer's wife and owner Dilys Lloyd said she would be sad to leave the school but was ready to retire.

"I've always collected things and when my grandson came onto the farm I didn't have anything to do, so I thought it would be a good idea to do something like this," she said.

"And it has become really popular, we have people coming from all over the world to experience what it was like in a Victorian school.

"It has just grown and grown and grown.

"But I am ready to retire now to do some of the things I would like to do which I don't have time for now.

"I have put it for sale as a going concern, a tourist attraction which in the summer is open seven days a week.

"And I really would like someone to come in and continue running it because it is so popular," she said.

Visitors to the school get a lesson in reading, writing, and arithmetic in the same style as how children in the Victorian era would have.

"I am still young at heart but the business has become too big for me to manage now," said Mrs Lloyd.

"It is very close to my heart and would really love to see it continue because I have given it 100%.

"But I am looking forward to retirement and doing all the things that I have not had time to do over the years like tracing my family history."

The school has gone on sale on the internet although Mrs Lloyd has not said how much she wants for it. "I am open to offers," she said.
