A Mold man charged with attempted murder after a man was doused in petrol and set alight has been remanded in custody.
Paul Nicholas from Flint appeared at Flintshire Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
It is alleged that the victim, David Prescott, was driven to an isolated spot near Mold last week and set alight.
Mr Nicholas, 24, was arrested at the weekend.
He did not speak during the hearing apart from confirming his personal details.
He called out to family and friends in the back of the court before being handcuffed and led away.
Severe burns
The case was transferred to the crown court and Mr Nicholas will appear at a preliminary hearing at Mold next week.
The 28-year-old victim from Leeswood, who has recently been living in Merseysie, is being treated at Whiston Hospital in Liverpool for severe burns to his legs and hand.
Detectives investigating the incident say that the car alleged to have been used in the incident was later found burned out in the nearby village of Cilcain.
Police are seeking a second man, and are appealing for anyone with any information to come forward.
